I assume that you have a paid FastMail account?
For many people, the quotas on FastMail Guest (or even Member) accounts is not sufficient.

I have two accounts with other providers just for those people that like to send me jokes, vides, etc.

Everybody uses e-mail differently. If you are happy with just one e-mail account, then it's not my place to encourage you to change your habits or provider. I've had enough lack of success with that in the past.
(Although I still do encourage people to use providers that allow POP or IMAP, or at least auto-forwarding).

Does anyone know if Inbox.com is (ever?) planning on implementing the auto-forwarding / filtering feature???

I use their service, but not very frequently. If they had this feature (and reduced the ads - yuck!) I would consider it more heavily.

I don't have a clue but it might be worth asking their support team as they are the ones who should be able toi answer you directly.

jd- I had sent a request to support(at)inbox.com in the fall of '07, and they simply stated that they do not have that feature. On their "Help" section of FAQ, it states:

Can I setup automatic forwarding of messages?
We are sorry, but this feature is not supported at the moment.

I was just hoping someone might have some inside information if Inbox.com is ever planning on implementing that feature. It seems a basic feature that most services provide.

I believe that inbox.com webmail is its own e-mail client. A copy of the message is automatically "downloaded" in webmail, without you even being logged in.

I can't find a "delete message if deleted off of server" option.

Inbox.com as a web mail service has been pretty good for me. My major complaint is the POP service which rarely works, at least for me.

I have friends with Inbox.com accounts that have zero problems with Inbox.com including POP.

Never had a problem with inbox.com or its sister crawler.com.
I also like lycos. The only problem is you must log in once every thirty days.
The problem with fastmail , if you are a freebie account , you have monthly limits on email sending and receiving .
Lycos allows large attachments then hotmail or yahoo.
Web based aol is turning out to be not a bad alternative. You dont have to be an AOL subscriber to use it. Its web based.
