Angry The worst and most unreliable Email ever: Inbox.com

Hello!

I've been using Inbox.com now for 3 months (unfortunately), and it's been down 3 times already. The web interface is down as I'm writing this, and has been for 14 hours straight now.
For an email service that's no doubt the worst reliability I've ever seen. I wonder what those guys are doing there ? Sitting on trees and chewing rocks ?

Anyway, a piece of advice: DON'T USE INBOX.COM for important and urgent emails... or just don't use it. Don't make my mistake.

Gmail it is then...

abgott,

Welcome to the forum.

I have several inbox.com and crawler.com (sister site of inbox.com) accounts.

The last day or so there have been some login problems.

I use pop peeper to check all my accounts and I have gotten login error messages at various times for both these accounts.

The problem has only been in the last day or so and I would guess that maybe these problems will clear up soon.

Inbox and crawler.com have been pretty reliable for me and when there is problems they are generally fixed quick.

Gmail is also a fine choice.

Good luck.
John

Welcome to the EMD Forums, abgott !

I have two inbox.com accounts, and I was on this morning without any issues. Granted, I don't use these accounts as "every day" accounts, I have never had an issue with it being down when I have tried to access it. Is it maybe your local server? Have you sent a question to inbox.com support?

If reliability is your concern, I think gmail is adequate in this regard.

~cheers!~

Hello!

Thanks, and sorry for my great outburst, I was really angry that day.

Inbox has been working fine since then, but it was just a critical time for me and I had some critical emails.

I'm moving to Gmail and Yahoo now and they've been working fine as well.

Thanks for the support.

I've been effectively locked out of my inbox.com account for days at a time at least twice in the past, on one of those occasions getting an error message informing me that my account had been locked for "abuse", a claim with nothing of substance behind it, as admitted by their support, who told me, when I contacted them about it, that it was a problem on their end that hopefully would soon be resolved. As this was quite awhile ago now, for all I know the service may be more stable and reliable now than it was then, but I was put off enough by it that I've never come close to considerig making them my primary service (and I'm currently a free email only user).

If you can't trust, them try someone like Eumx.net or gmx.com both very reliable and Eumx's support is superb and I highly recommend them.

Inbox has been fantastic for me.
Do people fail to realize that everything must have a down time. to update etc.

I think most of us realize that. But in my experience, and from what I've read here from others, that hasn't usually, if ever, been the case with the problems reported here. A service which cares about its users doesn't go down for days on end for updates without warning its users in advance and there was no indication that it was a matter of their doing updates when I've lost access to my account for days at a time, as I mentioned above, but as I said, their support admitted that the problem with my account was due to a "bug" in their system. I'm glad you've experienced no problems with Inbox.com, but many of us haven't been so lucky. Of course, I hope their reliability has improved, or will improve, since the problems which I and a number of others have had with the service.

Inbox.com for me has been very reliable, and it could just be a case there are problems with your isp communicating with the inbox.com server's say because of blacklisting spam problems or something like this, but for me it's been problem free as well, so I think it could be something wrong at your end causing these problems.

I will echo what jdtaylor stated. I have had very good experience with inbox.com . I've never noticed it going down or being down. Always seems to log in without undue fussin', and I'm not aware of any missing or non-delivered mail.....
