spamcop and paying

what is the issue with spamcop.. with paying.

I used it a while back.. they wanted money..

I should pay for the privilege of reporting spam to them? it takes me time and it does help them a lot!

No. As far as I know you only pay if you want one of their email accounts -

@spamcop.net, @cesmail.net, @cqmail.net

= $30 a year.

If you just want to report spam to spamcop that is free as far as I know.

It is true that reporting spam helps them improving their products in anti-spam but with a little luck somebody that receives your report might actually care and stop that spam from being sent to you in the future.They only want money to remove the nag screen when reporting spam. The nag screen is visible for three seconds. The fee is like $ 2...

Nope. You may pay to avoid a simple nag screen.

I agree with CarlS. For me spam never reduced despite regular reporting to Spamcop.

For $30 a year you can actually filter your email through Spamcop's filters, which are extensive, or you can elect just to use your Spamcop email account to do the same. During the holidays, the amount of spam seemed to me to be higher than normal, so I started forwarding all of my mail through to my Spamcop account to be filtered.

I have set the filters to remove and discard any email that originates in problem countries such as Russia and China, etc. as well as use the DNSBL servers from Spamcop and Spamhaus.

While reporting Spam may be hit or miss in terms of system admins taking appropriate action, I can assure you that the filters created by reporting to Spamcop absolutely make a difference to those who use them.

Its free to report spam to spam cop

If you want an email address from them as per my post above it is $30 a year. They then filter your email.

See;
