Anonymous email send & receive possible?

Hi. Here's the scenario;

2 people accessing a webmail account from different locations. If they send mails from this address, the ip address is revealed. Is there a service that will allow the continued use of a webmail account by 2 people but can provide anonymity in relation to the ip address of the sender?

Hushmail.com doesn't send the IP address. Nor does Google Apps or Cotse.net

Not just Google Apps but plain old Gmail too -- the IP is not included in the headers of outgoing Gmail messages.

I have a query for the original poster -- it wasn't entirely clear what the "used by two people" aspect of your question had to do with your question regarding the IP. Did you mean that the two people didn't want to reveal their IPs to each other? Or only not reveal their IPs to the recipients of messages sent from the shared account?

And what is the purpose (if I may ask) of two people in different locations sharing a single webmail account? This may or may not be relevant to your situation, but I have sometimes thought (and so have other members here because I recall seeing the subject mentioned here a while ago) that sharing an account in that way would be a useful method for two people to exchange confidential messages without the need for encryption or any other fancy footwork. So long as both people knew the password, one of them could visit the account and leave a message for the other in the drafts folder, and the recipient could read the message there and leave a reply, all without any message actually being *sent* anywhere, so the question of IPs would simply not arise at all. Is that related to your question in any way?

Lightbulb Anonymousspeech.com

You may want to take a look at Anonymousspeech.com, formerly and better known as Anonymous.to which was run by BigMailBox before it went under. This service is basically an upgraded remailer, bouncing off Panamanian servers and doing basic anonymizing, ie: removing IP addresses, etc. The free version has all the necessary ingredients for anonymity, but the paid version has more bells and whistles and secrecy from inquiring authorities according to the TOS. I had an account at Anonymous.to, in the '90s but not this one yet.

Here's the link:

To hide your IP address from unworthy eyes, you may also use a secure VPN channel. There are companies which offer secure VPN for a fee.

Hushmail has a lot of domains, Elitefitness.com, Anonmail.de, Cyber-rights.net and so on.

But Hushmail logs ip-addresses. Almost all e-mail services do. Countermail being an exception.

Hide your IP address

I'm a newbie here. I stumbled upon this thread and found it worth discussing. The solution to this problem lies in the paid service provided by some VPN companies, which will enable you to hide your IP address and do the things you want to do.

Or just use a e-mail service that doesnt keep any IP-logs at all. But VPN is always a good a idea.

.
Just visited EliteFitness, the name struck me as odd for an email service, it appears to be a body building website.

Elitefitness.com is indeed a body building site and they provide all kinds of services for their members, both free and paid for, one of them being free or paid-for e-mail acccounts: http://www.elitefitness.com/mail/

Elitefitness.com is an affiliate of Hushmail there are numerous of affiliates. Basically an affiliate offers a different skin for Hushmail and sometimes a localized version in another language, like Russian or Hebrew or German but the service is still Hushmail with servers being at Hush Communications in Canada.
