Login issues if "stay logged in"

I used to be able to select the checkbox to stay logged in and close that tab in the browser, then open a new tab and enter my mail URL (http://mail.mydoman.tld) and be logged in. Now when I do that I get a screen that hangs saying "Loading...". Closing the browser doesn't work. The only way to get to a login screen in that case is to clear the FastMail cookie.

New web interface, Latest Mac software: OSX 10.11.6, Safari 9.1.2.

Same here

I have the same problem. Thank you for the tip about clearing the cookies, which allows me to access the normal web interface using Firefox (same problem using Microsoft Edge).

Here is support's suggestion if you want to read it. It doesn't help me and I don't want to download any new browsers.
------------------------

Hi,

This should be because your browser doesn't have cookies or JS enabled. Or it could be due to some incorrect cookies.

The first thing is to make sure you have cookies enabled:

http://www.whatarecookies.com/enable.asp

Also make sure JS is enabled as well:

http://www.enable-javascript.com/

Once that is done, clear your existing fastmail.fm and fastmail.com cookies:

Firefox:
http://www.firefoxfacts.com/2010/03/...a-single-site/

Restart your browser and then try this:

You just need to login once with the "keep me logged in" checkbox enabled and it should create a saved session. This means that, each time you go to https://www.fastmail.com, you will be logging in automatically.

So, all you need to do is:

1. Go to https://www.fastmail.com/login
2. Enter your username and password
3. Enable the "keep me logged in" checkbox
4. Click on "Login"

Then on, when you are done, just close the browser window and next time you go to fastmail.com, you will be logged in automatically.

It should work fine for you.

If that fails, can you please test on an alternate browser and see if it works there?

Chrome - http://www.google.com/chrome/
Opera - http://www.opera.com/download/

Regards.

Other Browsers

I checked different browsers: same issue on #1 Firefox, #2 Edge or #3 Chrome. Everything was working fine until 2 days ago. No change in my setup.

This just started happening to me too. I cleared my cookies, was able to log in, then closed the tab, opened a new one, and got stuck on "loading." I'm using the latest version of chrome on a mac. Cookies and javascript are enabled.

I don't even have to close and reopen tabs. Sometime overnight in Chrome Fastmail gets stuck in a refresh attempt loop that can only be fixed by deleting Fastmail's cookies and relogging in. This didn't happen a week or so ago. I do not see this problem in Safari.

Same problem here since the last few days. I've tried with Chrome, Firefox, Opera, all with cookies & javascript enabled, and no addons installed.

I've confirmed this issue has been fixed.

One side effect of this problem for me was a list of logged in sessions that had been left behind on the Password & Security page. If you have any you can simply log them out to remove them from the list (enter password at top of page to enable the Logout button).
