Thank you, George! However, it doesn't work with Outlook 2010, but it seems to be a known issue.
the e-mail address in the header is the authenticated smtp user through which it was sent.

It's ultimately a way of tracking down the messages sent for compliance reasons.

Not sure what we can do about it.

Fastmail and EuMX do not reveal smtp username in their headers so I am sure it is possible.

Perhaps not everyone wishes (or needs) to send email messages anonymously. Is it right that we complain about spammers but at the same time try to hide our identities?

I look at that aspect from different way...not about being anonymous but about not showing up all information.
Consider following situation. You send a message putting one of your aliases in the From: field. If your alias is compromised by spammers you simply delete it and stop getting spam. But with current approach if your From is compromised then most likely your smtp username as well.

You do have a point soromak, although I am of the opinion though that what you are requesting is overkill - at least it is overkill for 99.9% of regular email users, who would not even be aware of what it is you are asking for (or even be aware what exactly an email header is)

Having said that, if George is putting out a specialised service, for (genuine) heavy duty email marketers, then perhaps my point is moot.

We do serve clients in heavily regulated industries, such as health care and banking/investment where they must abide by very strict rules.

I agree that soromak has a point. I will look into maintaining our compliance while hiding that kind of information from the public domain.

Hey guys,

Still playing and still learning. Had more questions.

I set up a handful of Imap accounts and was wondering whether there was a way to set these accounts so that they didn't fully open on the left hand side when you first log in.

In other words, I would like all accounts to be collapsed when first signing in, so that I can choose which account I want to open. It would just be a cleaner look. No big deal if it's not possible to do this.

Also, is there no way to add a pop account?

I'm really liking things so far.

Thanks again for this free offer.

A few minor observations:

1) When deleting an email from the inbox, it doesn't seem to be possible to set the preferences to have the next email show in the preview area. I keep having to click on the next email in the message list to get it to preview.

2) The date sorting of incoming emails seems to be messed up a bit (for me, anyway). Whether ascending or descending, a small batch of test emails I "redirected" from FM showed up with one from January between July and August ! (It did the same in a subsequent test with different emails.)

3) When composing HTML, if I start with the default font size (Arial 10, I presume) I can click the button for larger font once and it jumps up two sizes (around "14" ?). Then I click once to decrease the font and it drops to a middle size (around "12," my preferred size). Anyone else notice this ?

Suggestion noted for the collapsed accounts.

I haven't enabled yet the option to POP accounts. You will be able to do so and messages will be delivered in your Inbox or designated folder.

I'd have to login to your account in order to check things out.

Are you sure that you are looking in the right place ? Maybe what you had was a to-do list which would appear under Tasks!
