The timeout is now set to 10 seconds. If the ajax request hasn't completed within 10 seconds, the "Loading"-message will be replaced by a "Connection to server failed"-message. But I hope we wont be seeing this message too often

Actually the folder-icon-click is set to expand the folder contents (subfolders). I agree that this should instead change to the folder.

Certainly, will look into that ASAP.

Looking into it now

I agree, and will add it to the TODO-list.

Thanks for great feedback!

Thanks for the feedback!
My count is still off... Now it says I have 2 messages in my inbox, but there's actually none. I've logged in and out a few times on the https://beta.runbox.com/mail

Interesting... I just clicked "Switch to Basic mode", then "Switch to AJAX mode" and it corrected itself. I'll keep you updated.

FYI I use a mixture of webmail and IMAP

Right. I saw an email come in on Thunderbird (using IMAP), then went to my AJAX beta window (still open on the Inbox from earlier post), then clicked Refresh. It showed the new email coming in, but It registered no new emails on the left-hand folder list menu.

I again switched back to Basic, then Ajax again and it corrected itself.

It just doesn't seem to register new emails that come in (after you've logged in). Funnily enough, the Browser title (ie Internet explorer title) displays the right number of emails.

True. Don't know why, but websites gone very slow just now, but it's a good test - works brilliantly!

It seems like we have a problem with the IMAP-code not updating the message counts properly. When you switch from basic to ajax-version a complete recount is done, that's why it corrects itself.

Not all the servers are updated to support the individual folder counts for the new folder tree interface of the beta web mail. Counts may be off until the beta web interface performs a full folder counter refresh. This can cause new messages to be present in your folder but no reflected in the count.

This will be especially noticeable if trying to compare web mail and IMAP information at the same time since IMAP is not yet updated for the individual folder counters. Moving, deleting and uploading messages using IMAP may cause counters to be off until a full folder counter refresh is performed from the beta web mail.

Regards,
Rich

Sort Order

Will an option to permanently sort messages in ascending order (oldest at the top) be added to the new webmail? I realize that one can manually sort messages in the order they prefer by clicking on the "Date, Time" column, but I'd like to see a permanent option for this, rather than have to manually sort my messages each and every time I move between folders.

When browsing in spam folder the option on top is "Report spam" instead "Not spam" as it is in the old webmail.

We might look into this if there is enough interest -- in my experience I haven't had a use for it thus far, though.

We're aware of it and it's already on our buglist -- we should get to it shortly!

Can't open Compose message when in AJAX mode... This was working a week ago or so.

Firefox 3.0.9 on XP
IE 8.0 on Vista Business

Ah -- it must have happened when we implemented a fix to support multiple windows. The Compose screen opens in a new window and the link format seems to have become invalid. We'll correct this shortly...

AJAX Webmail speed

The Compose link problem is now fixed!

We're also constantly tuning the AJAX Webmail to make it faster and more efficient, and are interested in your feedback on responsivity and speed from your location.

We only have a few known bugs left to fix now, so we're getting closer to a more wide-spread beta phase.

Also... sending mail in Basic mode doesnt seem to work. I've only tried two messages to myself (with "test" as the subject etc), so not worried about the lost message, but I keep getting these messages below every 24 hours. One of them now reports the message being 216 hours delayed
