Considering that I love anything to do with the supernatural/paranormal - hauntings, mysteries, lost civilisations etc and in fact strongly believe I have experienced the unexplained more then once, I don't think this site is for me
Dan A Bright's worldview is free of supernatural and mystical elements. The ethics and actions of a Bright are based on a naturalistic worldview. |

Lol Beeboy, being 'A bright' (as in bright being a noun) is not the same as being bright (where bright is an adjective)
I consider myself to be a bright, even though until a few minutes ago I didn't have a clue I was one or what it was called. I personally only believe what I can see, feel, touch, smell.. sense. Perhaps there's more, could be.. but until I can sense it it doesn't exist to me. --K |

Lol Ok.. I wish there was an efficient way to send facial expressions through the web, that would make life a whole lot easier and brighten my day!

:-D Those would only work in About This Site, since one can't use the [img] tag anywhere else...

It's interesting to note that a couple of clergy have signed up. Not too sure how they reconcile the differences but I guess it works for them. |

Just as a matter of interest, BTW, I only posted that web address and requests for comment to get an idea of what people thought about the idea of using the word "Bright" in that context. I don't want to start any "vigorous discussions" about religion or lack thereof or make any comment about what people may, or may not, believe. I think that sort of discussion is against Edward's rules anyway. (I think.)

It's a little bit like the word "Gay" being sort of hijacked and changed to to indicate a homosexual person. In this case the word "straight" is the usual opposite. "Bright" (the noun) does not really have an opposite. I'm not sure you can have an opposite of a noun. What is the opposite to orange or candle or cricket bat? You may, or may not, be dull. If you are then you may not be bright, but whatever your state of dullness might be, it has nothing to do with whether or not you are a "Bright". Yes, I know you were probably using dull in this instance as a play on words, but I just wanted to explain all that anyway. Personally, I dislike the word quite a lot, but I agree with the concept. |

I meant that if a Bright was a person who does not believe in the supernatural then I would be a Dull. The maybe I'm Low Sheen as I have trouble with paranormal phenonema as currently understood but am a religious person.
