Aston Shell
I came across this shell replacement and wonder what others think of it. Looking at the FAQ and some of the problems mentioned makes me think that it creates a lot of changes in the computer's setup and could be a bigger problem if uninstalled.
Having said that, I downloaded it and noticed that it seems to speed up the bytes sent and received through my dial-up connection considerably. It does seem more powerful than the Explorer shell, but I don't understand how it could operate independently of Explorer. I know browsers such as Avant still use the Explorer base; maybe someone with tech knowledge can explain this. Aston is good looking and has quite a few setup features that I have yet to figure out. http://www.astonshell.com/aston/faq.htm |
