Talking Tea Lovers

I just found this site: Adagio Teas I'm thinking about you, Pat, as I post this. It's a really cute site. There are some great reviews of the teas, so I will try some. I found it because I am looking for some herbal teas in cloth bags (not those paper pouches), and ran across this company. The company from which I used to order herbal teas is not going to be carrying those teas anymore (they are a cosmetics company, believe it or not) so I tripped across this little gem in my search for replacement teas. And it looks like they pack their teas in cute little tins. They have some nice teaware too...

It's funny - they have a downloadable Tea Timer, where you can pick your tea, and set the timer to be reminded that brewing time is up. Guess they take their tea very seriously! LOL

They would probably find me to be hopelessly plebian. I just like tea..don't really know to many blends from each other. But I think I'll download the timer anyway and just enjoy the site. Thanks for posting it.

Unhappy United States of S T A R B U C K S

Within 15 minutes driving range from my house we have about 6 starbucks cafes.

Those cafes are poping up faster than "10x zoom hidden cameria" ADs and taking over Mom and Pop coffee shops faster than those clones from ' Attack of the Clones '

Add salt to an injury now another chained invador called " Coffees and Beans " are also poping up including universities and junior collges...

They do sell the tea ( I think ) if you consider iced tea as part of the tea group.

I bet after nuke war between Pakistan and India destory the world the first thing they gonna build will be Starbucks Cafe.....

What is common between Cacroch and Starbucks ? ????

They are everywhere..

There was a great comparative review in one of the local papers recently comparing coffees from the major chains (yes, we have Starbucks in Australia too! ) with coffees from specialist cafes (mainly Italian places unsurprisingly). They scored on flavor, texture, service, etc.

All the chains got 5-6/10, and all the cafes got 8-9/10. That's certainly been my experience--all the chains' coffees are pretty flavorless and bland.

Mind you, Starbucks was the inspiration for my favorite Southpark episode, so its not all bad! (You know, the one with the "underpants gnomes"... Step 1: underpants, Step 3: Profit)

Well I picked up the Adagio teas I ordered today (they came Saturday, actually, but we were in a rush and I didn't want to get the box from the postoffice). I ordered 5 sample teas (all either $1 or $2) - they all came in the cute little tins. They shipped me a free sample of Foxtrot tea too (I guess they knew I like herbals!) and it smells wonderful. Anyway, the first one I tried was the citron decaf. I made it according to directions (letting the boiled water cool for ten mins, then let the tea steep for 3 mins). It was the smoothest cup of green tea I've had, and it had a beautiful colour. I'll start making all my green teas in this manner.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to trying all these new teas...I'm guessing each sample tin probably makes at least 10 cups.

Great find, Lisa! I *love* tea. I've always made my tea using the pouches. Is there a real difference one way or the other?

I may try some of those herbal teas from the site too! My mom has just started drinking the 'caffeine-free' kind.

Thanks!

Hi Jessica!

I don't know if there's a noticable difference in using the paper pouch or the bag. I just think the cotton bags are soo cool - they make having a cup of tea seem more special than when just using a flipped-in-the-cup paper pouch.

Please let us know what you think of the tea as you try each flavor.
