Who uses the oldest computer here? - Page 2

This is slightly OT since I don't use it, but I still have an old ABC80 from the early eighties.

It was made by the swedish company Luxor an had 16 kB RAM, 16 kB ROM, including a BASIC interpreter (it didn't have a screen editor though, if you made typo you hade to start the line editor and carefully step forward to the error) and came with an modified black and white TV as a monitor and a casette deck as secondary storage.

I had a look at it,it is old!!! It looks like it's from the 60's!!.

I've also used the ABC80's big brother ABC800 in a client-server network where the server had an 8" floppy drive instead of a hard drive.

I'm just waiting for some oldtimer to start talking about punch card and power cables you can't reach around.

If you took it in to an antique dealer or an auction you might be able to get a pretty good price for it.

It was the first computer I ever touched. Of course my first lines of code were the classic

i have 11 computer from 486 laptop 25 mhz? 4 megs ram to amd 1300 mhz

i put ie3.0 on 486 and can read internet files on it but i cant get on internet ,, but i can get on internet with a 486 toshiba 75 mhz 8 megs of ram and fastmail and i think lyncos email are the only ones i can get ..i also use a pentium one 150 mhz a lot

the 486 toshiba is also a laptop and my 150 mhz is a huge thing noone would wana steal ,, its in an old gateway case

Those code are the basic software right? Any idea if these made it to the Windows platform?

I still prefer such simple codings than the Visual Basic which is more confusing than completing my codes.

I still have my first purchase of a PC -- a no-name brand

386/33MHz
Originally had a 40MB HD, upgraded to 350MB
Originally ordered with a 5-1/4 in. floppy drive, added a 3-1/2 in. floppy drive
Installed DOS 5 myself (extremely easy)
My monitor recently bit the dust and I purchased a refurbished one for $20 at a surplus store.

I play games on it still, when I'm not using the current computer. My favorites are Wolfenstein 3D, Duke Nukem, Commander Keen, Keen Dreams, Commander Keen - Aliens Ate My Babysitter, Cosmo's Cosmic Adventures, and Tetris.

I forgot I had that, but I don't remember playing it. I got it from a shareware catalog vendor called Software Labs on 3-1/2 in. disk. I also have Ultimate Blackjack, Zentris, Duke Nukem II (better), Ultimate Challenge Golf, WinFish, and Lucky 7 Jackpot from them.

The previously mentioned games are on 5-1/4 in. disks.
