I won't include mail sites because that would blow out my three choices right there.
There are so many, but three of my faves are: 1. Livejournal 2. Flickr 3. Vegweb |

Google
Wikipedia Of course the sites that are open most of the time in my browser are one webmail service that's very popular around here, and my employer's site... Last edited by hadaso : 16 Jun 2005 at 06:07 AM. |

Driver Guide Yahoo Yeah, I know that's a lot, but I visit all of them at least once a day. CNN I've got hooked through an RSS feed, SigX of course I've got the program updating every 60 seconds. Another place I LOVE is Stumble. Discover new sites that match your interest, plus there's community there - you can review websites, and see others' reviews. You can also add people that have similar interests to your list, and you'll get served pages they like.
I think dontclickit is the future of computer interfaces. Clicking is getting REALLY annoying. Removing the need to click everywhere will be great. |

Stumbleupon = BHO

I left it hanging and googled "Stumbleupon BHO spyware" and decided to remove it. The first google hit: CastleCops.com classifies it as "BHO/CLSID/Toolbar Deep Dive" But codes it L & Tb (legitimate & toolbar). Others were not so friendly towards Stumbleupon. In particular this thread about difficulty in removing it put me off. PC World Forums: Very Slow Removal |

I must say though that this kind of thing really does pin my BS meter. Clicking is simple, and intuitive; replacing it with a mishmash of cursor movements seem silly to me. Their line "navigating without the click can be quite difficult, if you are not used to it", seems to sum up the pointlessness of it, given that clicking is childsplay whether or not you are used to it. It smacks of "we have a budget to spend, and three years to fill" to me. I'm afraid the Emperor is very naked. [ Edit. Having said that, it's quite astonishing how the computer industry can persuade people to use bad interfaces. About 20 years ago I was talking to someone who was developing speech recognision for military applications such as cockpit weapons control, and he was saying how hard it is to reliably identify commands. So I suggested they invent a simple monosylabic language with a couple of dozen words that the machine couldn't confuse. He dismissed the idea out of hand, saying they couldn't expect pilots to do that, and it had to be English. Now military pilots are highly trained people who have to follow orders, or they go to prison, but a few later businessmen were handing over hard cash to use a whole new alphabet on their palm pilots. You couldn't make it up.] Last edited by DrStrabismus : 18 Jun 2005 at 09:17 AM. |

Wonder when the day will come when you can simply "look and click" ? Remember in Italy, found a pen back in the early nineties and it had red, blue, black and pencil stacked in it and all you had to do was look at the top to make your choice. No clicking! - enjoy www.radio-canada.ca, www.zenit.org and news.google.ca for news. |
