Comments in Photo Gallery
Hi
I (finally) worked out how to upload photos such that text is displayed as comment on the photo gallery. For a long time I thought it had to be the EXIF field with tag 010E " Image Description". What is used is the field with EXIF tag 9286 "User Comment". As far as I know, most software packages use the "Image Description" field and I just wondered whether it would be possible to optionally use this field. Thanks in advance for the response. Ger |

Thanks for the info, i've done this now. It looks for 3 things:
1. If you've specifically provided a comment via the web interface, it uses that (comments entered via the web interface are stored in our database, they're not written back to the image file) 2. If no web comment, it looks for ImageDescription tag first 3. If not found, it look for the UserComment tag Regards Rob |

Whow Rob
That is fast. But unfortunately it does not work with me as you can check out at http://photos.gjmkoper.fastmail.fm/ . The "Image Description" is set for the photo with the car and not the "User Comment". With the photo of my brother it is just the opposite. Ger |

Hi
Since this is getting more public I think it is my duty to name the document that I used. You can find it following the link http://park2.wakwak.com/~tsuruzoh/Co...ms/exif-e.html It describes the EXIF file format and is on the web site of TsuruZoh Tachibanaya, the author. Ger |

Changing the image comments works fine for me (using EXIF 9286). But how about changing the "Title"? Which EXIF tag is to be used?
After having changed the title in the FM-interface (as described here) my EXIF tool (I use Quick EXIF Editor) does not find the entry... (have tried with other tools as well) Would be extremely thankful for a quick help! ![]() |

I do not know of all programs that modify EXIF but when I use Opanda PowerExif I have the option to add tag 010e and then I fill it up.
Success! |

Yes, the image comments works flawlessly. But not the title (tried it with different EXIF tools).
I cannot find out which EXIF tag is relevant for the image title in FM... Anyone from the FM-Team? |
