We agree. Twitter wouldn't be the sole source of information, but would be an option for those who wish to use it.

I'm rather upset there's no announcement on your homepage, not everyone tweets and you DO have a facebook page (remember facebook??) It be nice if you tell us when services will be back up. I'm a paying customer and have to use my gmail account as of lately.
What the hell is going on? It be nice if you guys post here once in a while, too, I'll even provide the link: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Lavab...32285083487165 If you do not wish to use facebook as support, please delete the page. This has been happening way too often and I suggest you get this fixed ASAP. I support American jobs but I'll go back to google if this isn't resolved in a timely manner, also, you better check your voice mail at the phone number provided on the page, people have tried to call. (Yea, I'm a little upset...) -Rob |

hi,
sorry guys, but this is totally unprofessional! I mean, no problem with the mail being down for a couple of hours, but its the whole day in the meantime, and we don't even know how long this will take! and UNANNOUNCED? "The transfer of mail to the new storage system is taking longer than originally anticipated. Sorry. We'll keep you posted as we get more information.". a piece of information I found on a forum, really? Keep us posted exactly how? There is not even a link on your page to that piece of information! You're an email provider for christs sake, can't you even send a email to everyone about this a couple of days before, so we can give our clients an alternate email address? I joined lavabit because of the privacy violation the other providers apparently have no problem with, but I'll totally reconsider. Because I and my business for instance totally rely on a steady email provider! (yeah, I'm a BIT upset too) |

ridiculous
This is the third f'n time this year that unannounced, ill scheduled and prolonged "maintenance" has occurred. I'm a paying customer, but you bet I've been looking to alternatives and will be jumping ship ASAP! This is unacceptable.
Pete, whats prohibiting you or anyone else who works at Lavabit from creating a Twitter account and posting updates? (To previous posters, you don't need a Twitter account to read tweets!) You'd think with the recent NSA leak and press you guys got with Snowden, that the owners would invest in the company instead they got their thumbs up their *** and are probably tending to the company on their spare time. I've been subscribed to Lavabit for years, but with this latest outage, it's definitely time to start looking elsewhere for IMAP e-mail hosting.

Lavabit has been deteriorating for a few years now; though I once considered Lavabit to be superior (to other similar services) the writing has been on the wall for a few years now.... at least.
To anyone who is still using Lavabit.... as their primary account, I would suggest that the time to move is imminent - before it is just too late. unless you are solidly backed up, and just don't care, (of course ) |

(a lot of first time forumposters are very critical with lavabit right now...hmm)
anyway, as long as lavabit becomes more "bullet proof" i will use lavabit in future too. for me the service is ok and the system there was mostly stable and fast. a bit more patience in times of "everything has to be done instantly" are indicated. |

EMD Favorites To Lavabit, it only takes a few minutes to set up a Twitter account - then I can add you to the list. |
