Amount of SPAM increasing
I have noticed over the last several days the amount of spam coming into my Gmail account is increasing dramatically.
I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. |

Funny you should ask. I have a Gmail account which I rarely check, have only used to send to 3 or 4 people, and have never used it to sign up or purchase anything. And on the advice of EMD, I included a number in the handle to deter spam.
I logged in to find an accumulation of around 300 spam items. |

No not a single spam here. I use google each third minute download via email client and no spam for months as far as I know.
Have you guy been unlucky to give it away too openly on forum or on blog sites? |

I haven't necessarily noticed a jump in the number of spam. However, I have noticed a greater effectiveness in Gmail spam filters. That is to say in the past few weeks, my false positives have been just about eliminated. False negatives are a still a (very) minor problem.

I agree although I'm reporting all my spam through spamcop but it's still averaging 15-30 spans in my spam folder which does feel an awful lot for gmail.

I'm getting about 5 to 15 spam messages per day in my Gmail account -- all correctly placed in the spam folder. I can't recall when a message was misclassified. Google's spam filters are great.

I'm with you on the increase of spam
Was always impressed with Gmail's ability to eliminate virtually every single one. Today I had to mark 7 and report them as spam.
So now that we are more than one. Does anyone have suggestions that would make a difference? |
