HTML Editing
I have been a paid FastMail user for over 2 years. On the day I subscribed I sent a note to this forum about HTML Spelling. I was told by the FastMail people it was on the "short list" of things to add.
Where is it? |

Must be that "short list" is relative.

The current status of HTML editing in FastMail is that the current default editor (HTMLarea) is no longer developed and maintained. Since a few months ago there are two other editors being tested (FCKeditor and Xinha). Any user can use any of the non-default editors by switching to plain text editting, choosing any editor in the "actions" menu, and then switching back to html. The choice is persistent until logout (the next time you login you get HTMLarea again). Both alternative editors seem to have spellchecker option, but not the version installed in Fastmail's compose page.
There was some work started on making the adjustment needed to switch to one of the alternative editors, but I guess that this is waiting now till the big infrastructure things are complete (full replication, domain split, full Unicode support etc.) Disclaimer: I am not a FastMail representative. This is all just my recollection and speculation... |

Can't you get the Google toolbar which has spell-checking in it?
