Introduce a new free email: MeMail.com

This one: https://www.memail.com/
Has 8000+ domains to choose for registering your own username.
So everybody can sign up a desired account there.
Won't say more, go there to find good luck.

Interesting. Fully based on Microsoft Exchange (active sync).

Wow! Just sign up and got my first name in five letter format @memail.com

In many ways, this is better than my own vanity domain that I own and use at Fastmail! Remarkable.... wonder how reliable they will be. This is worth watching.

Even the free plan has 1 GB storage (not extremely much, but not bad neither), up to 25MB attachments, and 24/7 support: https://www.memail.com/pricing
It does say "limited time offer" below the "free". How limited is that exactly? And will the people signing up for free keep a free version?

Also, how long has this provider been around? Backed up by a solid business plan or sponsor?

@memail.be (quite neat. Except for mail.be, we don't have many good email services ending in .be)
@mail.net (very neat!)
@i.at (won't get any shorter than that)
@mailus.com
@gent.email (my city of birth!)

I have no personal experience and know nothing about memail.com, but I have always thought what a simple scam it would be to start an email service just so you can read everyone's emails and look for ways to make money. There is simply no way to know with most small services what goes on behind the scenes. Use at your own risk.

A relatively minor point, section 3.3 of T&C::
Quote:
With regard to free of charge email services, memail is entitled to add an automated reference to memail to the User’s incoming and outgoing emails within a signature.
Automated reference to the provider on incoming emails? Unusual....

Probably one of the most confusing email accounts I ever signed up for.

Very confusing sign up procedure and once I actually created an account using their supplied password, I wasn't allowed to change it after going to my account under "options".

Every time I tried to change the password it would say the password wasn't strong enough or secure enough. It wanted it to be at least eight characters long using upper and lower case and numbers and symbols as well.

I tried all different variations using their guidelines and still couldn't change the password.

Not looking too promising at this point......

Unhappy IMAP access?

I've signed up for a memail.com address. But can't connect via Thunderbird IMAP.
Has anyone got this to work?

Got the IMAP working.

Got the IMAP working, I got tricked by the automatic assigned password for the email account. Found the following warning message on the account sign in page and reset it.
---------------------
IMPORTANT! Your MeMail account password is separate from your webmail inbox password(s).

To reset an inbox password, login to MeMail and visit products > reset passwords from your dashboard.

Where do you find the POP and IMAP server setting for memail? I don't see them anywhere or do I have to register first before they will show that info?
