Juno upgrades storage to 1GB for MegaMail subscribers

I guess they need to keep up with the competition:

"As a Juno MegaMail subscriber, we have increased your email storage to 1 GB (1024 MB). With 40 times more space than before, you can now store thousands of emails with best wishes from friends and family, holiday photos or recipes, and online greeting cards you receive this season. In fact, you now have enough room for about 34,000 emails with file attachments!"

There is also a 2GB storage for MegaMail Plus subscribers, although the Megamail package seems to be the best value. I am not a Megamail subscriber, just the free Netzero email. I got offered the Megamail today.

The last time I saw the old www.megamail.com homepage there was a notice prominently displayed indicating that new registrations had been temporarily suspended because of a service upgrade. No mention of the service being sold. I'm sure the transfer of ownership domain had already taken place so it looks like anyone with an old megamail account is out of luck. Their accounts are probably gone. A little notice to accountholders would have been nice. But with 1 gig mail accounts showing up and then disappearing like the proverbial ghost, I guess I am not too surprised.

There seems to be two different providers under discussion here:  megamail.com, which is owned by United Online (not to be confused with the similarly-named company which is banned from discussion here), which also owns Juno and NetZero, and megamail.cc, the one which has suspended signups...
