New rules - import and export

There are "Export" and "Import" buttons near the top of the main Filters & Rules page, on the same line as the "+ Create Rule" button.

There is no information in FM's help pages about these.

Export offers a json file. Import.... well, who knows? I'm not trying it in case it wipes out my existing rules.

I'd like to think it adds imported rules after the ones one already has, so one can then move them around...

I've raised a ticket asking for documentation of what Import does.

I am going to guess that export and import are mainly designed to allow you to backup and restore your rules.

When you select import it say that you can use rules exported from Fastmail or Gmail.

I exported the one rule I have and then imported it, and got this:

"Hmm, that didn’t work. This file is not in a recognised format."

I got the same when cleared the existing rule and imported again.
