$25 wouldn't be buying a forum, but a thread in a "Email Service Announcements" forum (doesn't exist yet).

I am certainly not going to relax the criteria for opening new service provider forums such that the only criterion is a $25 payment!

In any case, I have had second thoughts about the whole idea since it will cause me a lot of additional administrative hassle for very little reward... and right now, what we have seems to be working fairly well.

Actually, I think vanessa@ms is a user of MailSnare, not one of the staff.

Still, I'm forever being mistaken for one of the FM staff...

Place to post provider news

If a new forum is not logistically possible, is it appropriate for providers to post provider news in any existing forums? If so, where?

You should PM Edwin. If he's decided not to do new forums, at the least you can post in one thread. Maybe Edwin can start a new forum topic under "Email Specific Forums" called Other and each service that wants to post can create their own thread.

Thats a great idea. Another section called other. With all the service's we have here an other section would be awesome!

Just to say that an "Other" forum simply isn't going to happen right now. Too much hassle policing it, and very hard to tell the spam from the legitimate announcements.

NameCheap

(A brief reminder of the rules of this thread:  what I intended to be posted here is the URLs of profiles of service representatives (clicking on the "Search for all posts by this user" link could give one a clue as to which thread to post your question/comment in); it is not intended for the URLs of the services themselves (although you could also give those), and certainly not for URLs connected with customers of services.)
