Inserting events into third party calendar

It's sometimes convenient for me to use the Fastmail calendar in a third party calendar such as Thunderbird.

The links given in Fastmail settings allow read only. Is there a way I can use something like Thunderbird and be able to add events?

I have multiple Fastmail calendars in Thunderbird, and can create and edit events without problem.

Thanks, FredOnline. We must be doing something differently. I'm using the share links on this page: https://www.fastmail.com/settings/calendars

Is there something different I can do?

OK, in that page, on your calendar of choice, select the export button, a window pops up with "Export" and "CalDAV URL" - copy the CalDAV link.

In Thunderbird: File/New/Calendar
On the Network/Next
CalDAV/FM user name/Location - paste the CalDAV link

I won't go any further at the moment, I don't want to add another calendar to my Thunderbird!

Use an app specific password.

See how you go from there . . .
