Lightbulb fast and easy login option?

Greetings to all happy fastmailers!

Is there a faster route to loging in when not using the 'save
password' option? I currently use the

https://www.fastmail.fm/mail/login

link and have to input my username while reading for the #th
time that fastmail is the fastest on the planet and what options
there exist for this Ferrari alternative. I recently figured out that

https://www.fastmail.fm/mail/?FLN-UserName=*****

might spare me from having to type my username, but does this
always work?

Ideally, I would like to see a login screen that is just that, a
login screen, with a method to store the username in the http://
expression.

In the knowledge that dreams come true @fastmail...

If you use Mozilla or Netscape 7, you can have the browsers memorize it for you.

I like the Mozilla/Netscape password manager a lot. MYIE2 can memorize passwords too. Not quite as slick as Mozilla et al, but it works and it's simple enough to change it. I don't think it'll do multiple logins to the same form, though, which Mozilla does do. I think if you change login ID in MYIE2 it overwrites the old information.

There was a post a while back, when FastMail was changing stylesheets around, about making a "fast" login screen. Maybe there was even a URL suggested, but it wasn't active yet.

Well, yes, browsers store passwords, but the idea was to store
just usernames in http:// shortcuts, so that more than one user
can login from the same computer.

For the moment, bookmark this URL for a more minimal login screen.

Thanks Rob! BTW, another related problem that needs to be
addressed is the fact that when there is no password cookie
stored, following a email link leads you to a "DON'T PANIC!"
(session has expired) login screen (with FastCheck installed).

I'm a big fan of Mozilla, and would recommend it to anyone. However, if one must stick with IE (which I don't see a reason for, but..), one might try this application: Roboform. It can password protect all "passcards'' with one password, and it allows multiple logins for the same form (it is also a form filler) and it is totally free and not adware/spyware.

related thing

someone (rob?) mentioned a while back the creation of a login page for people that were already customers that had little or no extra stuff besides the username and pwd box, something like login.fastmail.fm.

was just wondering if that was ever created?

thanks,
-reuben

Not yet...

(waits around for the "40 seconds between posts"-rule to expire...)

See the link I posted above. It's pretty close to a minimal login screen. Just a title bar, some news, and a login area.

[edit]Just figured out that http://www.fastmail.fm/beta/login/?S...een=basic.html also works, so that I can now log in to the Beta Server with a clean-cut login screen![/edit]

Dear kander,

Is that one of the official taglines? If not, it should be. Really cool.

Best wishes,
David P.

Dave,

It's nothing official, I just made it up on the fly. Anyway, now that I re-read it I think it's pretty cool too Do you think anyone would mind a revival of the "Taglines - Have your say" (can't remember the exact title) thread?
