No, it's not just you.
For anyone having this problem, there is a link at the BOTTOM of the page where you can switch to full interface. I'm assuming the default to mobile is just a mistake. I and another user are seeing this as well. On Firefox on Linux Mint. However, it works fine in other browsers (Chromium, Opera, etc.) on the same computers. Me too!
Copy of my post from the General Disscussion section (Mods please delete. Thanks)
*********************************************** G'day. I am still using FM's classic interface, as I need to use different signatures - depending on whom I am replying to, and creating new profiles is a pain... So, EVERY time I log in to https://www.fastmail.fm/?force_interface=html I get the mobile interface on my PC and Notebook computer. I have tried clearing cookies & cache data - many times. Running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS & Firefox V22. On both..And both using Gnome as well. I have had this with support before, but problem 'appeared' to go away so we left it. It's now back to the Mobile interface. Interstingly, when I log in, the Mobile GUI appears, I then click to 'switch to full interface' at the bottom of the screen. After that, if I switch to a new tab and enter "https://www.fastmail.fm/?force_interface=html" again, my login says; 'select account' (which is normally where the username & password fields are - which is what I expect to see), my username is already inserted like this: "xxxxxx@fastmail.fm (mobile)" - which is odd as I have already switched to 'full interface' previously . I have the 'Full" service plan. Any ideas? Thanks. *********************************************************** Some extra info I just remembered: After I submited help ticket, problem mysteriously went away. Support were NOT overly interested as it did not happen with testing on other browsers/O.S and on other computers. So I left it at that. But, it is so annoying to say the least. Are there any other Linux users with the same problem (I am guessing it's a common factor here..) Please note also as well as clearing all the cache, I tried using 'Bleachbit' to delete all FF's cache information. Next I am going to do some testing with Puppy & KDE with F.F. Thanks ~L. This thread seems related and has links to possible troubleshooting ideas:
http://www.emaildiscussions.com/showthread.php?t=66776 Seems that this problem may have been introduced, inadvertently, when FastMail implemented auto-detection of mobile devices. |

Thanks, I had a look at http://robm.fastmail.fm/articles/detectui.html and it reported desktop screen size although that isn't what I'm, getting - this has only started today. Does anyone know if it's worth reporting or is it currently being investigated?
Thanks ------------------------ Detect UI results ua = Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0 r = 1 ui = ajax size = desktop push = 1 -------------------- |

Yesterday we rolled out a change to work around a bug in Firefox for Android where it reports the screen pixel density incorrectly; this led to Firefox Mobile users getting the desktop interface by mistake. Unfortunately, we accidentally also applied the same logic to Firefox on Linux, which caused the issue you've been experiencing. This has now been fixed, and you should default to the desktop interface.
Apologies for the inconvenience, Neil. |
