b/c it looks nothing like the old outlook program he uses. admittedly i have not looked at it very close but i dont think outlook.com can do pop3 either, which is a necessity. believe me when i say trying to convince him to use anything else other than his outlook program will be a struggle. the best chance i'll have is if i find something that is very similar to what he is accustomed to using. something that looks like like gmail or outlook.com would be too radical a change for him.

Yes, it can: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...1-bea3edf6a24f
But are you sure you or your father really want to do POP3 from outlook.com? Or are you talking about accessing outlook.com via POP3 from a local email client? |

i'd say pop3 is required b/c his email he uses is tied to his domain with network solutions. incoming pop3 is mail.(his company).com, outgoing smtp is mail.(his company).com
so i'd need a way to pull his email from there to -wherever- (which has been outlook express all this time). even if outlook.com can do this it is not the right fit for him. it is too drastically different. he would not be comfortable at all with it. best solution is to find something with the look and feel that is the most familiar to him. |
