Dutch (free) email service.

I found another Free Dutch email service. They also have paid solutions.
They offer 1 gig storage..encryption,and also have webdisk (1 gig). Interface can be set in Dutch,English or French. They say the do have privecy very high in their company policy.
They also seem to have a chat service.
The company has it servers on Dutch soil....and is situated in Dronten (Flevoland).

They also offer syn. tools for ios and android phones.

Several test emails from me to yahoo/gmail/mail.ru and Yandex accounts all went well. Up till now i didn´t try outlook/hotmail/live or GMX.

Thanks so you don't have to live on Netherland
or such. some services like many of those in
Germany need to know that mainly German speacking
and persons having a post address in Germany see the directed ads so they have no use of us who never buy from Germany.

We have their MediaMarkt in Swedish to by computers from

Maybe I give it a test. Not sure I am too addicted to internet
and a new email only add to that behavior.

Edit. I failed to see how to signed up. You can sign in
if you are already a user but how did you join?

Hi,

You may want to read the welcome email they send you, their service does look very good for free but logging in did require a bit of copying and pasting from the email, and I would suggest using a password manager as each area uses a different login format, this isn't helpful but I have got my account working.

For free?? My reading of https://www.qaleido.com/solutions/qa...counts-edition is that this costs €1.53 per month.

I believe you're reading the "Upgrades" column. From what I can tell, they don't explain it very well. Anyway, I'm not sure but I believe I may have a 2 GB mailbox for free. Try clicking on the "FOR FREE" button on that page and I believe you'll be taken to the application for the free account.

Thanks, Dutchie007. It's not the best/easiest to remember domain for an English speaker such as myself, but it's worth looking at.

Thanks for letting us know about this service.

It seems that you can add a further 4 email addresses to accounts under My Qaleido.

I sent them a support email, and received an acknowledgement (which I translated with Google Translate). It is advising a response will be made within 3 days.

I have asked them about implementing DKIM and SPF, as neither is currently in place.

I just downloaded their app (android) on my phone and it works...and i ddin´t pay nothing. So I think yes...its free.
BUT beware...in the sync app make sure you end your username at .com..!!! Thats strange as my email ends at .nl....but always in the sync app make it .com. Then it should work.

btw You do not have to live in the Netherlands to join. Normaly most Dutch people also speak English. Maybe you wrote your email in French bananaboater??

Xmailer is correct...their basic free mailbox has 2 gigs.

They seem a very serious company.

Dutchie.

Dutchie.
It was just the automated acknowledgement to my email that was in Dutch. I expect the reply will be in English, as I have yet to meet a Dutch person below the age of about 40 who doesn't speak great English

Ok so there is nothing to worry about. Everything should be OK then.
And besides nowadays Google translate does a very good job!

Looks interesting. It's been about a decade ago since the Benelux has delivered a decent webmail service (when ilse.nl and advalvas.be vanished, only mail.be was left but their storage space isn't exactly impressive)

The one downside is how to pronounce the domain, which for mouth-to-mouth passing on your email address can be a bit of a hassle.

Thanks, Dutchie. I'm wondering, out of curiosity
-How did you hear about it?
-Does the name mean something?
-How long is the allowed inactivity period?

Are they backed financially to give a certain indication that they're likely to be around for a long while?

As I said, except for mail.be a lot of free mail services in Belgium vanished despite a promise to offer "an email address valid forever". Now, only mail.be survives as a 100% Belgian free mail provider.

In the Netherlands I remember ilse.nl also stated they'd offer "a lifelong email address" but they too didn't last that long.

In a way it's a pity we have little non-ISP-bound email providers in the Benelux.
