For those of you with websites, what website host do you use?

Supplies FTP, PHP & MySQL, has their own control panel. They offer email (they have three (I believe) different webmail clients as well as direct POP, IMAP & SMTP) with a web hosting account, but I don't use that anymore, just the web hosting account. They also have a collection of scripts to choose from, like forums and picture galleries and such.

Dreamhost -- easy on the wallet and has all the bells and whistles (I don't use any of them, though).

While I use my web host account to serve my primary photo gallery, I am using Fastmail's file storage feature to serve several other photo galleries, including the EMailDiscussions.com Forum Members photo gallery - http://emdpics.somdcomputerguy.com/

I've used dozens and dozens of hosting providers over the years, and I've found the webhost that works best for one project, is not necessarily the webhost that will be best for another project. So I'd suggest you look at it based on what your project needs are to find the right fit.

Having said that, the best two hosts I've worked with *overall* include Rackspace and Luxsci (which not surprisingly uses Rackspace servers), for a variety of projects.

For really simplistic bare-bones flat-file hosting, since we're in an email forum, I have to also give a quick thumbs up to FastMail, which has surprisingly decent performance for just a "bonus" storage space for an email provider.

For super-cheap "bulk" shared hosting, I'll have to give a surprised thumbs up to HostGator, which in full disclosure, I no longer use, but for that type of need, I wouldn't hesitate to try them again.

I used to be with VodaHost, whose sitebuilder is excellent. However, I found the support staff to be on the impolite site, which I found hard to accept as they are quite pricey. Hence I decided to leave and move my domain with me. I think I'll go for Weebly or Wix and restart with free hosting (with the domain I transfered before leaving Vodahost, which I'd forward to the free website) ; until I have better knowledge of HTML I think it makes sense to go for free hosting with a WYSIWYG system.

Here is my personal recommendation based on my experience.

Have you heard the name Cloudways before? They are offering managed hosting for Laravel and other PHP based applications. You can use their platform to deploy the application on Amazon Web Services EC2, Google Compute Engine, DigitalOcean, and Vultr in just a single click. Very easy to use the panel to manage your applications, in addition, Your website never gets down as Cloudways have auto-heal options means your website will never crash or freeze if all of sudden your website gets higher traffic.
