Paper Clips
Ok I'm sure there is an easy answer to this one and it's not all that important, but.... why does the paperclip sometimes appear next to emails which seem not to have any attachments?
Even if I send an email to myself, with a URL in it for example. Last edited by audiodan : 3 Aug 2004 at 08:21 PM. |

The paper clip shows up on all mails that are sent as multiparts. Unfortunately, there are a few programs that creates multipart mails with only one part. It's a bit hard to tell the difference without actually reading through the mail.
In addition, there are a couple of multipart types that doesn't really contain attachments. e.g. multipart/related which normally contains a HTML-message and images to be displayed inline or multipart/alternative which normally contains an HTML and a text version of a message. |

Thanks for the reply, i guess the paper clip is just an indication that the email may have an attachment
