Pubbox Sign up? Pubbox page coming back up?

Hey,

Just wanted to know how ppl can sign up for a Pubbox account when there is no page for registration?

I realise that the page has been down for quite a while and also know via a friend that existing customers have no problems as the email does work via a mail client.. just the pubbox site is not up. Which makes it hard for new registrations

Or does someone know a contact email where we can email someone from Pubbox to have a site created?

Thank you

I think you will be out of luck until Pubbox returns (and restores the webmail server and website) Yes, the IMAP server is still working flawlessly

Pubbox IMAP also works flawlessly for me also. But POP3 is not working, unless pubbox.net is not the POP3 server.

I am not sure if Pubbox even supports POP (although they might) I did not notice any mention of it on their website (when it was up and running)

I saved the html page I got at signup and that only mentions smtp and imap.

I think that is the big question right now...

David might be able to answer this correctly, but I don't think anyone has heard from poobox since january 2007... I could be wrong though... but I think that is the case.

Looks like they have one guy working there and something has happened to him....

Thanks theog.
I haven't looked up my inscription file yet.
Hope this doesn't last too long.
Hope that the fellow responsible is doing okay.
That's most important.

I wouldn't hold your breath. I emailed that address 28 days ago and have still heard nothing.

This is the most peculiar situation: normally the owners are apologizing for their service's lapses, here it's the other way around - we do not hear from them, yet the service (IMAP) works flawlessly...

i was one of the first to notice the downtime (of the webmail), and I sent them about two or three mails to support. I received no answer since the downtime.

I've even sent an email to the support about one week about the downtime to tell them to upgrade my account, but they never did it (i guess they didn't see the message).

I don't know the real name of the admin, but if we knew, we could try to phone him (using german white pages I guess).

Edit: I think his real name might be in his EMD private profil... (well, it's private...)
