thx but I am already familiar with these workarounds...

For Total Count: hover over folder name.... it sucks as a workaround and wastes so much of my time to have to constantly re-hover over every folder to find totals when every I want to know... the classic UI method of always showing them is better ^_^

Then there's Workaround for #2 in 0 clicks: Having the Trash folder auto-purge/empty itself every night (configurable in Settings->Folders).

I quite agree with that, who the hell wants to hover, its a giant step backwards.

Please, people, the emotionalism has to stop.

The information isn't gone, you simply have to move the mouse over the folder name. The information is there, and it doesn't even require a mouse click. Moving the information to the edit/create folders screen could be considered a giant step in the wrong direction, but this? I love the de-cluttered interface. I like that it is there when I need it, but not visible all the time. Easily accessible, no mouse clicks.

Please people, the emotionalism here is getting silly.

Not trolling you, Joe.. but how often did you find yourself needing to know the number of conversations in a folder? Even if it's more frequently than I use it (which is honestly, never) I can't imagine you do it so often that it "wastes so much .. time". You're moving a mouse cursor...

Have to agree with ChinaLamb on this one.

Have to agree with ChinaLamb on this one.

I USE IT EVERY SINGLE DAY!
it is the first and 3rd thing I do after refreshing the screen/tab every time...!
ie. I am always glancing at the numbers..

and to CHINALAMB.. how on earth is it CLUTTERED
its a simple column of #s down the right margin of the folders names
They could add it to the Classic theme for the new UI or at least make it an optional tick box... ;p
I have been with FM since early 2003... FM is at the center of my digital life, so the folder #s are very important to me...
btw I pay for 5 years of service at a time ^_^

In all honesty, I do find this surprising. I definitely want to know whether there are new unread messages in folders. However, I know fairly closely the number of total messages in each folder, and rarely have a need to remind myself whether it is 347 or 349.

That said, if this is something really critical for you, look for a browser that supports the Stylish extension, and add back this, for you, critical functionality.

Peace, man.

There is a Firefox work round so that you can see your folder count, I did post the details on here a long time ago....

ooh do tell lol can u find them again?

I use GreaseMonkey a Firefox ext. to run the following script given to me
Code:
// ==UserScript==
// @name        FastMail Tweaks
// @namespace   https://www.fastmail.com/tweaks
// @version     1
// @grant       none
// @match https://*.fastmail.com/html/*
// ==/UserScript==

// Notepad screen: move "Create new note" button to top, followed by "Sort by"
// -- Updated by Bill n5bb (2011.05.02)
// -- Updated Grease Monkey ready by "robmueller" (2014.05.10)
if ($('notepad'))
{
   ($$('div.sortBy')[0]).inject($$('.collapseContainer')[0],'top');
   ($$('li.listButton')[0]).inject($$('.collapseContainer')[0],'top');
}
btw I tried editing the @match https://*.fastmail.com/html/* so it would work with the NewUI but it didn't and really didn't matter any ways since those features were at the top anyhow...

if there is an additional script I could run with GreaseMonkey, I guess that would be ok for a work around... but FastMail really should take care of this themselves so its done right..

No....try this

How to show folder count in New UI

Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/ and download

Then go to tools in Firefox, then add-ons then edit, and then paste the script below also give it your script name.

.v-FolderSource:after {
content: " " attr(title);
font-size: 12px;
}
