Links in emails sent by FM app on Galaxy S20

Long shot here, but I'm stumped about how to send active links in email that I generate using the Fastmail app from Google Play on a Galaxy S20 FEG5. No issues when using a PC interface but I'm lost trying to do it on my phone. I did type a link in which only the first 8 or 9 characters turned blue . I don't know what I did and I've haven't been able to recreate it. Any suggestions??

Typing a URL on my Galaxy S20 in the FM app works ok for me.

Copy/paste also works fine.
