proactive moderators needed

Some spam postings remain visible about 12 hours after submission. This forum evidently needs more moderators, spread across various time zones, who would do at least the basic (and admittedly unglamorous) job of removing obvious spam.

I havent ever seen this much spam @ one time on this site!

I guess the moderation is a bit off these days because I am in South Africa on a vacation, with a limited access to the Internet. Normally I am at 7:00am at my desk in New York. So I am the first to quickly respond. Sorry, need vacations from time to time...

Things should improved no later than early April.

I am now in Swaziland, Africa and normally I would not deal with moderating, but I noticed the influx of spam and banned the offenders (and removed their postings).
Sorry for the mess...

I log in here every day. While I do see and occasional spam. I certainly don't see a 'huge' problem with it. Perhaps it is a timezone thing and they are all cleaned up before I log in.

I think the moderators are doing an excellent job.

It's a lot easier to send the first few posts from new members to moderation so you can approve the good ones at your convenience.

That also allows you to delete as spam any spammer posts before google/visitors see them.
