Cannot connect to fm

Get the following

An error occurred during a connection to www.fastmail.fm. The server rejected the handshake because the client downgraded to a lower TLS version than the server supports. (Error code: ssl_error_inappropriate_fallback_alert)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

I am using Win 7 pro 64 bit using Firefox browser and am in California

Working now. I tried ie and was able to get in but some slowness; tried ff again and it worked. Guess some server problems somewhere.

Janusz: not sure if your link applies as I am a heavy user of fm on the web. Never got this problem til today. Thanks, tho.

Arrow Firefox erratic SSL negotiation bug

That's interesting. Which one of these were you trying to connect to?
All of these will redirect to https://www.fastmail.com and the fastmail.fm ones will include the requested domain, as:
https://www.fastmail.com/?domain=fastmail.fm

The browser response you posted contained the fastmail.fm domain. I'm thinking that if you weren't trying to use the login domain fastmail.com directly the SSL negotiation bug described below might occur more often.

I'm pretty sure your bug is due to a very erratic Firefox problem related to SSL negotiation error recovery. See:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1072382

The code was changed at Firefox v35 (about 4 days ago), but it was an erratic bug due to secure connection negotiation bugs. As janusz pointed out, Fastmail won't allow certain SSL connection types anymore. Your Firefox copy might have updated to the new version when you tried again. In any case, the bugzilla case seems to show that the possibility for such errors will disappear with v36 (if I read the notes correctly).
