Very true.
Paying for both services and getting the same output. if they can merge both than it will be good. |

Still using POBox.com Basic for forwarding emails to my Gmail and also for sending using various domains. Works very well and is reliable.

longtime Fastmail user here. I have been looking at Pobox over the years, but never really spent too much time as Fastmail always seemed to do what I want. When Fastmail bough pox and then (at least to me) appeared to do nothing with it, I got very confused trying to differentiate between the two services.
Would I be right by summarising "Pobox mailstore" v "Fastmail standard" as follows:

Not sure if POBox.com email filters are as powerful as sieve filters, but I personally do not use filtering very much. Frankly, I'm not certain of the usefulness of a system that automatically funnels emails into certain folders without me having to do anything. How is one supposed to know something has arrived without then having to go to each folder and check? I find this process much slower and less intuitive than just routinely scanning incoming email and then doing something with it: much of it just gets deleted, others get starred, some get filed, others archived, etc. I don't get the point in receiving email if I don't at least glance at it! Plus, no matter how powerful the filters things get misfiled, leading to lots of wasted time looking for things in the wrong places.
