My Gmail account in Bing favourites
Somehow I have a Bing favourite website bar at the top of my Internet Explorer. I never installed it myself, probably did so accidently by pressing a wrong option or so, but I left it there as it was not exactly a bother.
Now however amongst the favourites in that bar, was the "compose mail" option of my Gmail. Luckily, when clicking the option, I was asked to sign in, so it was not leading straight into my account. I removed the option from the Bing bar as well by using right-click and remove the shortcut. I wonder though how this got there. I would never be that silly to add an open account to my favourites. Of that I am sure. Bing got there maybe by accident, of that I have to admit I don't know, probably a mistake of mine. But I for sure did not add any email account as a favourite to any toolbar. Does Bing automatically add the most visited sites as favourites or what could be the cause of this? ![]() |

I think that Bing is automatically installed in Internet Explorer when you update IE unless you carefully answer the upgrade questions.
You can control which toolbars you see in IE using View>Toolbars. Bill |

I don't mind Bing being there, what I mind is that they randomly add "favourites" which I did not manually add myself, including the "compose" option of an opened webmail account. That cannot be the purpose of a toolbar, I'd never voluntarely add an opened account to my favourites and I don't like the idea of a toolbar somehow doing so.
I wonder how it's possible at all. Does Bing just add the most frequently used URLs there or what? ![]() |
