Tasks in Fastmail?

Fastmail does it all, almost.
Mail, Calendar, Contacts (Files & Notes!).
Tasks seems to an obvious next step in the all-in-one Fastmail evolution.

How might Tasks be incorporated into Fastmail?

Part of Calendar? a separate mode?
Task are commonly integrated into other Calendar apps.
VTODO is part of the iCalendar standard.
aCalendar+ is an example of a well-integrated Calendar & To-Do app on Android.
DAVx5 syncs Contacts & Calendar with Fastmail, and does tasks too (VTODO) - but alas not with Fastmail.
Evolution, Thunderbird.. many other examples of Calendar and Tasks integration.

I'd love to be able to maintain and sync my To-do list with Fastmail.. it's my go-to for everything else.

Does this seem feasible?
Is Fastmail working on this?
Thoughts?

You can use Fastmail calendaring to store your VTODOs, although you need to make a new calendar to do it. (By default, Fastmail creates calendars as event-only.) Don't hold your breath waiting for a todo UI in 2021, but I daydream about having one, too.

I'd love this too. I'll try the suggestion but I use tasks a lot.

Tasks is something I miss too. Everything else is nicely synced across my devices, but not tasks.

Hello, I only just ran into this issue (and this forum!) today, even though I've been using Fastmail for years now. Now is the first time I've seriously tried to use tasks though.

@rjbs, How would I store VTODOs in a separate Fastmail calendar?
Or are you talking about just saving them as events, and I can tell them apart from actual events just by them being in a separate calendar that I dedicate to tasks only?

Add your Fastmail account to your reminder/task client of choice. (Apple's "Reminders" or Flexibits' "Fantastical" are my go-to, here.) Using that, make a new task list on your Fastmail account. Then you're ready!

Basically, every calendar can hold one or more kind of thing. By default, Fastmail calendars hold events. You can use a todo program to make one that stores todos. If you do, you won't see it in the Fastmail web view, because … well, you couldn't do anything with it!

Not that it matters, but count me in as one person who has zero interest in tasks in FM. In fact, I've never even looked at any task program anywhere!
