ICMAIL.net
Hi Friends,
I have been using ICMAIL.net and I am very comfortable in using this. The PROS AND CONS ARE PROS: 1)Very Fast in Loading 2) Descent Space. 3)Many Options which no other providers are providing freely 4)Nice Web Interface I have compared this with FASTMAIL and both are loading and logging into INBOX at the same time. There may be very much small differences in secs CONS 1)It uses 7080 ports which is restricted in corporate environments(I am facing this problem) 2)Still not understood the concept of ALIASES in ICMAIL.net 3) New Service and not many people knows about this service Please let me know if there are any.. Thanks Sarath |

Re: ICMAIL.net
Quote:
Defined as simply as I can at the moment, an "alias" is simply an alternative user name/address for the same mailbox. For example, if your "real" icmail.net address is sarathb [AT] icmail.net --which of course, it can't be, since *I* have that address (just kidding ) -- anything sent to an "alias" address created for that account, say sarathb_spamtrap [AT] icmail.net, would arrive in your sarathb [AT] icmail.net email box just as if it had been addressed to your "real" icmail.net address. However, the actual name to which it is sent can be used as a criterion for applying filters to it upon it's arrival -- and/or if you begin getting too much spam sent to that alias, you can simply delete the alias and you will no longer receive anything sent to that particular alias. Does that better clarify it, or if not, would you care to more fully explain exactly what you don't understand about icmail.net's implementation of aliases? |

Maybe it is me, but long time ago I am not able to access the login page. Tested using Firefox and IE (both on Windows) and with the URL's http://www.icmail.net and http://mail.icmail.net:7080/scripts/webmail.exe (the error message says that the system is not able to connect to mail.icmail.net:7080).
Any of you have the same problem? Do you use another URL? |

Javier, on the icMail.net site there is a link to a support forum ...
Forums.Sentris.Com Maybe you can find an answer there. The "site is for Registered Users Only". (The same way that UnitedEmailSystems.com originally had a closed forum). |

Thanks. I have finally found the problem. PeerGuardian has mail.icmail.net IP address in the list of blocked IP addresses (Beyond The Network America, Inc.)
