I'll say goodbye to Winamp

And no-one ever cares if it should live or die?...

Looks like I might have to find me another media player to use instead of Windows Mediocre Player.

I won't miss any of the WinAmp services, so their shutdown won't affect me.

But I admit that I still keep my audio library in Winamp, so I can easily find files.

There is such a push to be new and fresh and trendy, but so often that comes at the cost of basic functionality.

Winamp just won't be developed anymore because no one could figure out a way to make it hip enough to have a continuing revenue stream.

Fashion over function in the cause of profits. Not the first time, won't be the last.

Basically, a sale appears in the offing, so AOL did not shut down Winamp on December 20.

It probably would work under wine. There's also xmms, an open-souce clone Winamp clone, and it's forks.
