Autocomplete

Hi all. I'm new here and am just starting to use Gmail.

In all the Office applications, there is a convenient tool called Autocomplete. It corrects often misspelled words like dont > don' or form > from. I also use it for creating shorthand words. For example, I will type ms and it becomes Microsoft. It saves a lot of time. You can create a huge list of shortcuts.

Unfortunately, I have never seen a tool like it for any third-party email clients or Gmail. It's so hard to believe that Microsoft is the only company to have such a tool for its apps. Is there such a tool for Gmail, where you can add autocomplete entries as I described?

Thanks, Janusz. I checked into that a few minutes ago and didn't see where I could add custom words. I'll check again and post back.

I don't see any way to add my own shortcut words. Am I missing something?

It's so hard to believe that MS is the only company who figured out how to do this.

This feature was available in programmable text editors like TECO in the 70s. Gnu Emacs had it in the 80s, and people ran email client "extensions" in an editor tab. Web browsers are reinventing the past.
