Restricted Access Alternative Accounts Practically Useless
Hi,
I really like the Alternative Logins feature. However I've found all uses I've used them for need Full Access. For example, an account used just to send SMTP mail doesn't need access to IMAP mail, the web interface or the ability to change *any* settings. Ditto an XMPP account AFAIK. Cheers, Jamie |

Sadly, I agree. This could potentially be an extremely powerful feature, but greater granularity is needed. It currently has only one feature of practical use. Full access passwords cannot be used to change the main account password. This means that, if you almost never use the (long and complex) main password, your account is unlikely to get hacked to the extent that you are prevented from logging in.

We're planning to rework our auth and permissions system later this year (or maybe early next, given the way this year is filling with stuff). I really want fine-grained controls as well.
