I noticed that sender name is in red color when i view email?
What does it mean?

[edit] some are in green, and some in black/dark grey?

Green means the sender is verified as genuine, for example when you receive an email from Fastmail support.

I assume red is a warning that the sender domain is either unverified, has failed DKIM tests, or could be on some sort of blacklist, so should at least be treated with caution.

Black therefore, would be neither of the above.

The sender name is given a random, but consistent colour, based on the email address. The idea is that within a conversation you can quickly see which emails are from the same person because the colours match.

I've found that over time I've come to associate certain colours with particular names that I often receive mail from. Its a nice little optimisation for my eyes

The green tick and red banner to indicate trusted or not is a separate display element entirely.

My bad. Apologies. I misunderstood what you were referring to as I've never noticed the other colours myself.

As I recall, the MyOpera webmail client did something similar, but in the collapsed message view it also tinted the entire line (and did not just colorize the sender's name), making it that much easier to associate messages and senders. Perhaps FM could do something like this (whenever someone gets around to adding a few more themes ). I'd do it in my own amateurish way by using CSS in Stylish, but FM keeps changing things and I often lose the changes I make.
