We're currently having trouble with our outgoing email server, and outgoing email is currently being accumulated on other servers for later delivery. FTP services are also affected.

The server will be restarted as soon as our hosting provider sysadmin arrives onsite, and operations should normalize within an hour.

Update

The accumulated queue has now been processed and outgoing email delivery has normalized.

Outgoing mails are not being shown, though.

We're having some unrelated problems that should soon be corrected. Stand by while we reconfigure and restart the database server...

We're back up and running normally again. We have a small queue of incoming email, but it should be processed within minutes.

That's so true: that's why Runbox's staff posts information like this in this forum.

That's a really good point, Marc.

Any email provider can and does experience occasional delays. And this of course includes Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail as well. But no helpful and friendly representative from those providers comes here to volunteer the information, describe the likely cause, and provide an estimated time to correction.

I genuinely appreciate the honesty with which Runbox interacts with its users. And I'm reassured that the system is under regular and rigorous scrutiny. Runbox is a reliable, efficient and versatile service, and it's unfortunate that the transparency they have volunteered to share with their subscribers is used by a few to unfairly condemn it.

Or to put it briefly, thanks for the update, Geir!
