PolarisMail Webmail Update
Hi Guys,
just wanted to let you know that due to customer demand, we added two new webmail software to our list: RoundCube and Squirrelmail. If anyone would like to see another software running, send me a PM and we'll consider it. Here are the login URL's: Webmail Selection Page: http://webmail.emailarray.net Atmail: https://webmail.emailarray.com Horde IMP: http://mail.emailarray.com RoundCube: http://roundcube.emailarray.net SquirrelMail: http://sqmail.emailarray.net Atmail is still our main Webmail software and it will soon be upgraded to their version 6. We are also in the process of getting SSL certificates for the other domains. Regards, George |

Hi, George
Thanks for the update ! Not to press a point too much here, but how soon is "soon" for AtMail 6 ? Are we talking weeks or months ? I'm looking forward to trying it out (after I try the ones you just added, that is. ) sd |

Update: I was able to log into RC and SM successfully, but all three attempts to login at Horde failed. Any other users confirm a problem here ?

email no show...
When I use the AtMail *Advanced* interface and select the inbox folder, there is no email showing on the right side panel. It is just a blank window.
Using it at the *simple* and *basic* setting I have no problems seeing the email listing. This happens whether I use Firefox or IE 8. Does anyone else have this problem? |

Hi, kelly !
I hardly ever use the Advanced interface (because I tend to use Opera or Iron instead of FF), but on those occasions where I have tried Adv. using FF, it could be a bit temperamental as I recall (besides taking a long time to load). E.g. I might have to click a folder twice (not a double-click, just clicking twice) to get it to show its contents. But I just tried it again before writing this response and it seemed to work okay, but still slow. So, I'm afraid I'm not of much help here. I'm looking for Polaris to implement the AtMail 6.1 soon after its release, which I believe is supposed to be later this month ! sd |

The culprit was the browser not allowing third party cookies. Previously when I was testing the cookie settings, I only clicked once on the folder icon before changing the setting again. Therefore not seeing any difference. thanks again sd! |

George, is it possible to use cnames to point at these new webmails? I tried to create a new cname webmail at my domain to point to "sqmail.emailarray.net" but it always lands at some other person's website. I have no problems with a cname pointing to webmail.emailarray.com .
Will you be adding any plugins for sqmail such as "Add Address" button, Unsafe image rules or filters? |

For now we'll make the necessary changes to allow Squirrelmail to be reached by a different CNAME. In regards to Atmail, they have now reached version 6.1 and we are finally considering them as a stable enough version in order for us to upgrade. We really didn't want to be updating Webmail every 2 weeks as they came up with new updates. There are also two updates to the Spam filter. 1. Each user's Control Panel, located at https://cp.emailarray.com now also has the option of having an e-mail delivered to their INBOX every X hours with the latest messages that were trapped in their Spam folder. 2. Users can also view the contents of the Quarantine(Spam folder) in the User Control Panel and decide to whitelist and/or deliver the message. Cheers |

And don't "consider" upgrading for too long ! I can't stand the suspense ! I'm looking forward to trying AtMail 6 (which I've said 3 times now in this thread !). I especially like the fact that it is supposed to have (the option of) a gmail-like conversation view. As a side question (for anyone who may read this): AtMail seems to be popular according to statements I've read (comments at their own site, etc.), but I don't believe I've ever heard it mentioned here in association with any other service except Polaris. Are there any other email providers/hosts that use the Atmail webmail besides Polaris ? sd Last edited by B4its2L8 : 1 Dec 2009 at 09:49 PM. |

Owm ?
Since some are opening threads started 3 or more years ago, I hope no one will mind my replying to one from a little over 3 months ago.
I've had no luck whatsoever logging in to PolarisMail's horde interface. Ever. On any browser (Iron, Opera, FF, IE8). And in Iron I have trouble with SqM. Whenever I log in and then click on one of the folders, I get an error message saying I must be logged in to access the page ! I have used the new AtMail 6 and like it well enough. But in all honesty, since I've never really been a fan of the other interface versions -- SqM (though I've dabbled with it in the past -- esp. at Lavabit), Horde or RC -- depending on the number of Polaris users who demand any of these interfaces, I might actually suggest dropping one (or two) and adding Open Web Mail. It seems like a popular webmail interface.... Isn't that the interface of choice for EuMX users who access their mail via the web interface, or am I mistaken ? sd |

We have many changes coming but here are a few important ones that were requested:
1. Horde/IMP now works properly through SSL at this address: https://imp.emailarray.net 2. Roundcube is now available only through SSL https://roundcube.emailarray.net or http://rc.emailarray.net ( forwards to the SSL version ) 3. Squirremail is now available only through SSL https://sqmail.emailarray.net or http://sq.emailarray.net ( forwards to the SSL version ) 4. We added OpenWebmail https://openwebmail.emailarray.net or http://owm.emailarray.net We had several people request OpenWebmail but honestly we are not big fans since it doesn't appear to have IMAP support. It only works if you have it access the mail directories locally which we can't do from a technical point of view. The only option left is to authenticate and access the e-mails through POP3! This is quite bad in our opinion since it downloads the e-mails from the server. As usual, comments and suggestions are appreciated. Cheers! George |
