FM's app passwords (managed through Passwords & Security) are for app passwords to access FM. The old POP fetch, now an IMAP fetch, is for FM itself to access another email service. That service of course may require an app password of its own which is created there, in which case that's what you would need to use when setting up the Mail Fetch for that service in FM.

The only thing that changed (other than the confusing UI) is that access from FM is via IMAP where before it was POP. It should still work although it would be nice to give the user the choice. Maybe the user doesn't want to use IMAP for some reason.

I was not sure if he just wanted an application password for POP set up.
