CwazyMail shutdown - 20th September

It's been a long time coming, but it's finally happening. cwazy.net cwazy.co.uk

Hello all,

CwazyMail will close in two months on the 20th of September 2014.

Unfortunately I have not been able to find a paid service to move existing email accounts to. Less than twenty people have contracted me requesting paid accounts and each service that I've considered requires that I handle the monthly admin of billing people - this isn't going to work for twenty email accounts.

On the 20th of September CwazyMail will be deactivated and you will not be able to send or receive new emails. On the 30th of September we will begin deleting email accounts and all of the emails they contain.

You *must* move your emails elsewhere before the 20th of September or you will loose them. I highly recommend you move to FastMail.fm and use their migration tool (https://www.fastmail.fm/help/receive/migrate.html).

Thanks

Best regards,
Steven

It has been a long time running, there soon won't be many uk email based providers left, apart from ukinbox and I can't honestly remember how many other uk based ones there are now, they all seem to be closing down.

I don't know of any providers left in the UK, if there are then I'd be real happy to talk to them.

With a couple of months notice before the shutdown I hope there will be enough time for everyone to move their emails elsewhere but I'm disappointed I can't keep everyone's email accounts running. Some people have had them for years and I do feel a responsibility.

How about:

http://www.simplymailsolutions.com/
http://www.fluent.ltd.uk/
http://freeola.com/free-email/
http://www.daily.co.uk/products/email/
http://www.theemailshop.co.uk/email-hosting.html
http://www.lcn.com/email
http://nethosted.co.uk

Some of those are specialised in email hosting, while others are more web hosting-oriented.

I was referring to free email providers with IMAP and similar. There are tons of people offering chargeable email.

I could have sworn it was in the UK at one time. At least it's a Commonwealth country, eh?

Hi Steve. Nice to see you on the forum.

Regarding CwazyMail. I thought that I would close my account now instead of waiting until September, but I couldn't find a link in RoundCube.
Squirrelmail hasn't been working for me for a while now.

Should I send you an email, or just wait?

There are about 4,000 email accounts still active so I'd prefer not to close accounts manually. If you wouldn't mind waiting that would be easier.

If we're going to post about ukinbox with no cwazymail tie-in we should probably open a new thread to avoid confusion, but I recently encountered the same difficulty and received the same 'problem' notification when attempting to create a ukinbox.com account. Anybody else?
