GMail and Outlook/Hotmail both provide Activesync for free and free mail hosting. There is a paid version of Google Apps for Business too. They all work very well with iPhone.

This is correct. We are also waiting on this feature to get done.

If we see no development soon I guess I will get my programmers to do it.

Their dev agreement is out of the ordinary too so I have a feeling it puts people off who would normally contribute to open source projects.

Mail2web offer exchange hosting otherwise try the supplier I'm using http://www.netray.co.uk £30 a year and very good personal support.
