Text to Voicemail

I am looking for an online service that will transcribe a text message (sent to a cell phone number) to voice, and to then call the same cell phone number with the contents of the message (or place the message in the voicemail for that number)

While there are a number of online services that do exactly the opposite, I have not been able to find what I am looking for. Does anybody have any ideas.

note: I am not necessarily looking for free

I've not heard of that. As you point out, there are services (such as Google Voice) that convert voice to text. I've not used them nor can I name them, but I've heard of applications that convert text to voice. The apps don't place calls, they just read the txt received on your device to you out loud.

Thanks William. Yes: I have used a few of these applications myself. I am thinking that there is little demand for what I looking for, hence the lack of development.

I want very much to try it myself, but my cell phone doesn't work when I'm at home, but there is one spot in my next door neighbor's yard where it does get reception..

Thank you Bruce; much appreciated, this might come in useful. What I am looking for (specifically) though, is a way to ensure that all text messages, sent to my cell phone (from another cell phone) are sent to me as a regular phone call.

Oops. I didn't read your post closely enough. Well I hope that does prove somewhat useful though. I am a bit of a hobbyist programmer, and this will now be on my mind I wonder if I'll actually be able to come up with something.. Just have to find the right services that provide the right API's..

If you are successful Bruce, you might make some money. There are many folk (like myself) who just hate reading and replying to text messages

Are you doing this because you can't read texts while driving?Are you using Android?If so Total Commander
http://www.ghisler.com/android.htm may be able to do what you need,if used in conjunction with something like one of these http://www.geoffsimons.com/2012/06/7...h-engines.html . Too bad www.reqall.com just bit the dust.With a little tweaking it might have been able to fit the bill.

Thanks for the reply mister: but no, I am using a dumb phone (that does not support text) because I just don't want to read text messages, neither do I want to reply to them.

I like to use a phone as a phone

Hello Bruce:

I have contacted their support page (asking for more feedback) At first glance the service seems to be geared to mass marketing.

Their live support page has not worked for me, as yet. 'Phone notify' seems like overkill (for me) - though I do plan to research this further.
