How to Search for and Sort by Read Message

I need to find messages that have been read and can't find a way to display them. There seems to be no search for read messages and no sort. I hope I missing something?

While it's not in the standard "Advanced Search" you can do it manually in the search field by using the "NOT" operator:

Code:

NOT is:unread

Note that case is important ("NOT" as opposed to "not" or "Not").

Update: Even easier — just type "is:read" in the search field. The full list of options can be found under Searching by message state in the help article I linked to above.
