The smtp server has been taken offline - your server is queueing the message and attempting delivery over a certain period of time. Eventually you will get a bounce.

Contempt of court charges have been threatened against Levison if he shuts down his company:

snews://nntp.aioe.org:563/20130817We7RyQi86n@XyWJ

Thus, if service is restored, you guys might not like the kind of service you're getting.

There is only one sensible outcome here. Levison should sell at least 51% of his shares to a foreign company, who will move the servers abroad. Levison needs to move on.

Or he could just delete everything on the drives and hand them over.

In this thread I read a statement from Ladar that within two weeks he will give the possibility to get the E-mails from the server. Then it's not from a encrypted server, but at least we could get our mails.

Is Pete still online or does anybody has news about the progress?

I believe Levison gave that statement before the Feds threatened him for shutting down Lavabit; this may have changed things.

Link to legal news Lavabit.com owner: 'I could be arrested' for resisting surveillance order
Quote:
Lavabit said he was barred by federal law from elaborating on the order or any of his communications with federal prosecutors. But a source familiar with the matter told NBC News that James Trump, a senior litigation counsel in the U.S. attorney’s office in Alexandria, Va., sent an email to Levison's lawyer last Thursday – the day Lavabit was shuttered -- stating that Levison may have "violated the court order," a statement that was interpreted as a possible threat to charge Levison with contempt of court.

I am sad to see this service go. I will missed it. Its sad that if we don't wish to be tracked we need to use "no logs" vpn service and emails hosted offshore.

It seems Ladar is a freemason? (handshake)
