Thumbs up Goodjob FM

I think the FM did quite a good job handling the crisis that was triggered from the worst power blackout in US history.

I noticed that the FM was down but was glad to see updates and a genuine effort that restored the system in a very short time considering the depth of the crisis that is still affecting many. Credit should be given where its due.

to the guys at Fastmail, I would like to extend my best wishes for a good job done too...

I am sure you guys have been taking the heat from other users abt the outage but you will still have my support as a customer for the superb service Fastmail has been running so far!

I can't agree more. I know what it's like to have to deal with these kinds of problems first hand. I have no idea how they can work on the problem and have time to read all the complaints/questions here. No wonder Jeremy has CTS.

I agree.

I've just bought a paid account with Fastmail, but I don't feel annoyed at all about the outage, it was obviously something the guys at FM had no control over.

Many thanks folks. Pretty busy last 24 hours!...

NYI are blaming the problem on a diesel generator failure. We're extremely disappointed with how they handled the problem. We'll be seeking a range of improvements from them and will have to move elsewhere if they are not implemented.

At least now, Jeremy can rest his "voice" for awhile.

No sweat, Jeremy. I think most of us are quite understanding of the situation and are very happy that you are dealing with NYI in a proper way. We couldn't ask for anything more. Frankly, I was bit apalled to see some here complaining and beating up on Fastmail.fm -- it to me was the ultimate me-ism. "I want my email and I don't care that millions of people don't have power for the essentials" type of thinking. Sorry, but I didn't appreciate that.

FMRocks, couldn't agree more...

To me Email is the most important form of communication I have, so ok, I was slightly annoyed, but hey, what about those people stuck in elevators, subways, etc? What about people who own restaurants and icecreamshops? They probably had a lot more to worry about... made my realize my 4 lines of plaintext weren't all that important after all.

Last night the power didn't go off down here in the southern hemisphere, the mail was interupted for a while but by far thw worst thing that happened was the New Zealand Warriors lost to the Newcastle Knights.

Hopefully tonight the All Blacks will get one over on out Australian friends and I'll be able to e mail everyone about it later.

Normal service will have been resumed!!!!

Prediction

New Zealand 42 Australia 10 LMAO
