I looked thru the help docs, briefly to be honest, but I didn't see anything that may help. You might need to place a support ticket, or maybe someone else here can provide better assistance than I. Bill (n5bb) comes to mind, he seems to know just about everything.

Thank you, I had a look in my settings but the button has gone missing...

I have the spam setting to discard at 15 and in my sieve its set at 15 so I would have thought one of those would have worked.

Just to clarify, for me and anybody else that will read this thread, do you mean how to reset the spam and non-spam databases to a learn count of zero?

Yes I cant set it to zero.

I have 2 settings set at 15 in 2 places to discard spam but I still get spam rated at 28 and a lot more of it over the 10 days

If I recall correctly, if a spammer is using a From: address that is in your contact list (address book), that will bypass any spam filters. This may be the case.

I do not want to test this (I do not want to reset) but setting Spam Protection to Basic has the effect of turning off normal spam filtering. If you do this and then set filtering back to its previous setting, that may cause the existing private Bayes database to be reset. You can then retrain. Worth trying if that is what you want.

Thanks Tim, I tried to tick the basic box but the button wont stay there.
Also it did not delete the bayes datebase by ticking basic.

I have made up another rule in my sieve script so I will have to see how that goes.

That shouldn't have anything to do with your Bayes database, so there's no need to worry about resetting it.

The very fact that you're getting spam with a score of 28 suggests that the Bayes database is actually working fine. If spam is getting through, the problem lies elsewhere —*possibly a whitelisted address as somdcomputerguy suggests, or perhaps a customized sieve rule that's being run before the spam processing stage. If you're using a custom sieve script, be sure to watch out for any rules in the first box that have a "stop" or "keep" directive.

Ok thank you.

Both mail boxes seem to be getting a little more spam than normal, but I will fiddle with my sieve a little bit more and see if this helps.

I may have to try a discard in my spam settings set at 20 or something.
